Prophet Ayyūb (Job, عليه السلام) is remembered in Islam as the best example of patience (ṣabr).
Allah blessed him with wealth, children, health, and respect, but later tested him with severe trials:
He lost his wealth.
His children died.
He was afflicted with a painful disease.
Most people abandoned him, except his loyal wife.
Despite all this suffering, he remained patient and never lost faith in Allah.
He made a humble du‘ā:
رَبِّ إِنِّي مَسَّنِيَ الضُّرُّ وَأَنتَ أَرْحَمُ الرَّاحِمِينَ
“Indeed, adversity has touched me, and You are the Most Merciful of the merciful.”
(Qur’an 21:83)
Allah accepted his prayer, cured him, restored his health, and blessed him with even more than what he lost.
