Prophet Mūsā (Moses, عليه السلام) is one of the greatest prophets in Islam and is mentioned in the Qur’an more than any other prophet.
Allah chose him to guide the Children of Israel (Banī Isrā’īl) out of slavery in Egypt.
After rescuing them, Allah spoke to Mūsā directly on Mount Sinai (Ṭūr Sīnā) and gave him the Tawrāt (Torah). (Qur’an 7:145)
The Tawrāt was a book of guidance, laws, and commandments for the Children of Israel.
Prophet Mūsā was supported by his brother Hārūn (Aaron, عليه السلام), who was also a prophet.
With Allah’s help, Mūsā performed many miracles, such as:
Splitting the sea to escape Pharaoh.
His staff turning into a snake.
Water gushing from a rock when he struck it with his staff.
Despite his efforts, many of his people disobeyed and worshipped the golden calf when he was away, showing the challenges he faced as a leader.
