The Stories of the 25 Prophets Mentioned in the Quran (Part 4)
Introduction
Throughout history, Allah (SWT) sent prophets to guide humanity with wisdom, mercy, and truth. Each prophet faced unique challenges but remained steadfast in calling people to worship Allah alone.
In Parts 1, 2, and 3, we learned about fifteen prophets whose lives continue to inspire Muslims today. In this article, we explore five more prophets whose stories teach valuable lessons about leadership, justice, gratitude, and unwavering faith.
10. Prophet Dhul-Kifl (AS) – The Patient Servant
Prophet Dhul-Kifl (AS) is mentioned briefly in the Quran, but Allah praises him as one of the righteous and patient servants.
Although little is known about his life, Islamic scholars explain that he was recognized for fulfilling his promises, judging people fairly, and remaining patient through difficult trials.
His mention in the Quran reminds believers that sincere worship and patience are qualities greatly loved by Allah.
Lessons from Dhul-Kifl (AS)
Always keep your promises.
Be patient during life's challenges.
Allah rewards those who remain steadfast.
9. Prophet Dawud (David) (AS) – The Just King
Prophet Dawud (AS) was blessed with prophethood, wisdom, and kingship. Before becoming king, he became famous for defeating the mighty warrior Jalut (Goliath) with Allah's help.
Allah gave Dawud (AS) the Zabur (Psalms) and blessed him with a beautiful voice that glorified Allah. The Quran tells us that even the mountains and birds joined him in praising Allah.
As a ruler, Dawud (AS) judged people fairly and always sought justice.
Lessons from Dawud (AS)
Justice is essential for every leader.
Always praise and remember Allah.
True strength comes from faith, not physical power.
8. Prophet Sulayman (Solomon) (AS) – The Wise King
Prophet Sulayman (AS), the son of Dawud (AS), inherited both prophethood and kingship.
Allah blessed him with extraordinary gifts. He could understand the language of birds and animals, and Allah placed the wind and the jinn under his command by His permission.
Despite possessing great wealth and power, Sulayman (AS) remained humble and always thanked Allah for His blessings.
One famous story tells of the Queen of Sheba, who accepted the worship of Allah after witnessing the wisdom and miracles granted to Sulayman (AS).
Lessons from Sulayman (AS)
Wealth should increase gratitude, not pride.
Wisdom is one of Allah's greatest gifts.
Always acknowledge Allah as the source of every blessing.
7. Prophet Ilyas (Elijah) (AS) – Calling People Away from Idolatry
Prophet Ilyas (AS) was sent to people who had abandoned the worship of Allah and began worshipping the idol Baal.
He called them to return to the worship of the One True God and warned them against idolatry.
Unfortunately, most rejected his message. Despite their refusal, Ilyas (AS) remained patient and continued fulfilling his duty as Allah's messenger.
The Quran praises him among the righteous prophets.
Lessons from Ilyas (AS)
Never compromise your faith.
Continue calling people toward goodness.
Patience is essential in spreading the truth.
6. Prophet Al-Yasa (Elisha) (AS) – Continuing the Mission
Prophet Al-Yasa (AS) succeeded Prophet Ilyas (AS) and continued calling people to worship Allah alone.
Although the Quran mentions him only briefly, it describes him as one of Allah's chosen and righteous servants.
He remained devoted to guiding his people and preserving the message delivered by earlier prophets.
His story teaches Muslims that serving Allah faithfully is more important than seeking recognition.
Lessons from Al-Yasa (AS)
Continue doing good even when your efforts go unnoticed.
Stay committed to Allah's guidance.
Follow the example of righteous people before you.
Conclusion
The lives of Dhul-Kifl (AS), Dawud (AS), Sulayman (AS), Ilyas (AS), and Al-Yasa (AS) remind us that patience, justice, gratitude, humility, and faith are among the greatest qualities a believer can possess.
Whether ruling a kingdom like Dawud (AS) and Sulayman (AS) or patiently calling people toward Allah like Ilyas (AS) and Al-Yasa (AS), these prophets remained devoted to their mission despite every challenge.
