Introduction

The stories of the prophets are among the greatest sources of guidance in the Quran. They teach us how to remain patient during hardship, trust Allah's plan, and remain steadfast in faith no matter the challenges.

In Parts 1 and 2, we explored the lives of ten prophets. In this article, we continue with five more remarkable prophets whose stories demonstrate perseverance, honesty, justice, and complete reliance on Allah.

15. Prophet Yusuf (Joseph) (AS) – The Story of Patience and Forgiveness

Prophet Yusuf (AS), the beloved son of Prophet Yaqub (AS), is the only prophet whose story is told almost entirely in one chapter of the Quran, Surah Yusuf.

As a child, Yusuf (AS) saw a dream in which eleven stars, the sun, and the moon bowed to him. His father understood that this dream carried great significance and advised him not to share it with his brothers.

Out of jealousy, his brothers threw him into a well and later told their father that he had been killed by a wolf. Yusuf (AS) was rescued by travelers and eventually sold as a slave in Egypt.

Years later, he was falsely accused and imprisoned despite his innocence. Even in prison, Yusuf (AS) remained faithful to Allah and became known for interpreting dreams. Eventually, his ability reached the king, who appointed him to oversee Egypt's food supplies during years of famine.

When his brothers came seeking food, Yusuf (AS) recognized them, but they did not recognize him. Instead of seeking revenge, he forgave them, and the family was joyfully reunited.

Lessons from Yusuf (AS)

Patience during hardship leads to Allah's reward.

Forgiveness is a sign of true faith.

Allah's plan is always better than what we imagine.

14. Prophet Ayyub (Job) (AS) – The Example of Patience

Prophet Ayyub (AS) was blessed with wealth, good health, and a loving family. Allah later tested him by taking away his wealth, children, and health.

Despite years of suffering, Ayyub (AS) never complained against Allah or abandoned his faith. Instead, he continued worshipping Allah with patience and humility.

Finally, he made a sincere dua asking Allah for mercy. Allah answered his prayer, restored his health, returned his blessings, and rewarded him for his unwavering patience.

His story remains one of the greatest examples of perseverance in Islam.

Lessons from Ayyub (AS)

Every hardship is a test from Allah.

Patience brings immense rewards.

Never lose hope in Allah's mercy.

13. Prophet Shu'ayb (AS) – The Prophet of Honesty

Prophet Shu'ayb (AS) was sent to the people of Madyan, who were known for cheating others in trade and giving false measurements.

He urged them to worship Allah alone and to deal honestly with one another. Unfortunately, many people mocked his message and continued their dishonest practices.

After refusing to repent, Allah's punishment came upon them, while Shu'ayb (AS) and the believers were saved.

His story reminds Muslims that honesty is essential in business and everyday life.

Lessons from Shu'ayb (AS)

Be truthful in business.

Never cheat or deceive others.

Allah loves those who act with honesty and justice.

12. Prophet Musa (Moses) (AS) – The Prophet Who Spoke to Allah

Prophet Musa (AS) is mentioned more than any other prophet in the Quran.

He was born during the rule of Pharaoh, who ordered the killing of newborn Israelite boys. By Allah's command, Musa's mother placed him in a basket on the Nile River, where he was found and raised in Pharaoh's palace.

Years later, Allah chose Musa (AS) as a prophet and spoke to him at Mount Sinai. He was commanded to confront Pharaoh and call him to worship Allah.

Allah supported Musa (AS) with many miracles, including turning his staff into a serpent and parting the Red Sea so the believers could escape Pharaoh's army.

When Pharaoh pursued them, the sea closed over him, and he drowned because of his arrogance and disbelief.

Lessons from Musa (AS)

Allah always supports those who trust Him.

Arrogance leads to destruction.

Courage and faith can overcome even the greatest challenges.

11. Prophet Harun (Aaron) (AS) – The Faithful Helper

Prophet Harun (AS) was the brother of Musa (AS). Allah appointed him as a prophet and gave him the role of supporting Musa in delivering Allah's message.

Harun (AS) was known for his kindness and eloquence. While Musa confronted Pharaoh, Harun helped guide the Children of Israel.

When some people began worshipping the golden calf during Musa's absence, Harun tried his best to stop them and continued calling them back to the worship of Allah.

Lessons from Harun (AS)

Support others in doing good.

Remain patient when people reject the truth.

Leadership requires wisdom and compassion.

The stories of Yusuf (AS), Ayyub (AS), Shu'ayb (AS), Musa (AS), and Harun (AS) remind us that every believer will face tests, but Allah rewards patience, honesty, courage, and faith.

Whether through Yusuf's forgiveness, Ayyub's endurance, Shu'ayb's honesty, or Musa's bravery, these prophets continue to inspire Muslims around the world to trust Allah and remain steadfast in His guidance.
